Today I explored a traditional Korean food market. There were so many sights, smells, and sounds to experience! The market was filled with spices, seaweed, vegetables, seafood, meats, and fruits along with an assortment of medicinal herbs. I saw fish, turtles, pigs feet, dog meat, antlers, ginseng, and many more unfamiliar items. This afternoon Cait and her friend, Megan, and I took the subway to different part of Seoul. (Side note, subways in Korea are the cleanest public transportation I have ever seen). I truly got an inside look at some traditional food as this market is not a tourist attraction. In fact, we were the only foreigners in sight. I was so happy to find huge Asian pears. Yum!
Much more to come!
