Next up... Rwanda!

Hi, family and friends! Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about what I will be doing in Rwanda from July 31-August 26.

Global Youth Connect, or GYC, www.globalyouthconnect.org is a non-profit organization based in New York City that promotes "acting together for compassion, human rights, and responsibility." GYC believes the key to preventing massive violations of human rights and protecting basic freedoms lies in organizing the world's youth to take action. As part of GYC's Human Rights Delegation, I will be joining a team of young people in Rwanda for three weeks to work with our Rwandan peers to explore human rights as a concept, the human rights situation in Rwanda and the world, and to take concrete action steps together to support efforts for human rights protection and promotion. We will be working with several grassroots NGOs, international organizations, and governmental agencies to achieve this.

If you're interested in keeping up with my journey, please check this blog when you can.  I hope to update it a few times a week while in Rwanda.   And please feel free to ask me questions, express concerns, or share ideas.
